Swasti Vinayani Utsav - 2010
25th January 2010
Sree Guru Anukulashram, Balasore, Orissa, India

Man loves to live and to grow. He craves for joy; he loves his family, friends and other acquaintances. In his struggle for achievement, he has to fight against impediments; overcome hurdles. Life goes on rolling day after day; as the rising sun sets down in the evening, a tiring soul looks around for fulfillment. He looks at the face of Sri Sri Thakur and feels reassured.

No one knew life and love, as well as Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra knew. He brought out for the humanity, the force of life, the lore of love and the path for fulfillment. He is the emblem of life and love, in their pristine originality and beauty. No one understood and healed the sorrows of crying souls as Sri Sri Thakur did. He is still active in playing his eternal role, through events, institutions and through conducts of his devotees. One such annual event where Sri Sri Thakur comes alive is Swasti Vinayani Utsav, held at Sree Guru Anukulashram, Balasore. This event is being held for over last 40 years in succession. Year after year, the blessing of Sri Sri Thakur is getting bestowed on his children through this event.

Swasti Vinayani Utsav for this year is planned to be held on 25th January 2010 at Sree Guru Anukulashram. Like all previous Utsavs, the Utsav this year will be graced by Pujyapada Bidyut Ranjan Chakravarty and Dr.Buddhadev Chakravarty. Number of devotees from far and wide will be participating in this Utsav. This year Utsav will coincide with the 4th anniversary of consecration of the temple at Sree Guru Anukulashram.

The Utsav on 25th January 2010 will be preceded by two-days long 10th National Conference on Swastyayani, to be held at the same venue on 23rd and 24th January 2010. Looking back, one sees that the 1st National Conference on Swastyayani was held at this holy premise in May 1998. The 6th National Conference was also organized by Sree Guru Anukulashram in May 2003. The National Conference Series on Swastyayani has become a platform for the devotees to take up socio-economic ideological aspects of Sri Sri Thakur for discussion, dissemination and implementation.

We invite all to participate in the Swasti Vinayani Utsav at Sree Guru Anukulashram on 25th January 2010 with family and friends. Let us congregate at the feet of the Lord once again and rededicate ourselves for His cause. As we know, He is the saviour, He is the path and He is the ultimate solution. We all need to follow His principles and establish a world of peace and prosperity.

Humble followers of Sri Sri Thakur,
Organizers of Swastyayani Vinayani Utsav 2010,
Sree Guru Anukulashram, Balasore
*** Sree Guru Anukulashram – A Divine Memorial for the Humanity ***

Swasti Vinayani Utsav – 2010 will be held at Sree Guru Anukulashram, Balasore on 25th January 2010. 10th National Conference on Swastyayani will be held at the Ashram on 23rd and 24th January 2010.
The venue, Sree Guru Anukulashram, was not built in a planned way. It was nobody’s vision to build an Ashram or any establishment of a particular design. It all grew almost spontaneously over a period, by the grace of the Lord. Of course, many devotees have put their lives into the formation of the Ashram, as part of their devotion and dedicated activities to establish the image and ideology of Sri Sri Thakur Anukul Chandra.
Way back in 1967, Ritwikdev Sushil Ranjan Das came to this place, being directed by Sri Sri Thakur. The place was then completely isolated and was almost inaccessible. Sushil Ranjan just laid a thatch under the sun for his head. It was an unmistakable pace of time which witnessed a silent play of devotion and dedication from this tiny plot that transformed itself to today’s Ashram. The drive was almost irresistible to fulfill the Lord; to place the Lord and His image at the highest pedestal on the world stage. There were intense activities; all in the realm of self realization, socialization and recreation of a divine order. There was total dependence on the Lord and on His unbounded grace. There was only one mission: ‘do and live for the Lord; serve His cause and be blessed’.
The Ashram is a shelter for people. Staying there, people get to know and practice the path and ideology of Sri Sri Thakur in their ordinary day to day to life. The guidance, inspiration and behavioral correction if any was imparted and shared by the founder, Sushil Ranjan. He was an astute practitioner of sadhana; had uncompromising approach to the ideology and led an austere life style. Sushil Ranjan’s family was a nucleus of an ever growing larger family, in which all the devotees were members.

The temple in Ashram, where in Sri Sri Thakur appears in his normal grandeur on a life-size portrait, engraves the holy mortal remains of Sri Sri Thakur. The Ashram also preserves a piece of shirt and a pair of sandal, once used by the Lord, carrying rarest of rare living touch of Sri Sri Thakur. The Ashram now runs a weekly charitable dispensary. Everyday there are prayer and meditation. Satsang is held every weekend. Yaajan rounds are held in neighboring localities every second Saturday of the month. Youth camps are organized periodically, when young devotees undergo penance for higher order of sadhana (sishu-prajapatya vrata). Twice a year, utsavs are held: one is Swasti Vinayani Utsav, and second is, Sri Sri Thakur’s holy birth anniversary, on the day of Tal-navami. Special Satsangs are held to commemorate birthdays of Sri Sri Thakur’s associates like Krishna Prasanna Bhattacharya, Sushil Chandra Basu, Ananta Maharaj, Kishori Mohan and Satish Chandra Goswami. Some students are pursuing their studies while staying in Ashram. ‘Sandilya Hostel’ is proposed to be built with permanent facilities for the students. A library is being developed with literature on all religions. The Ashram with his heritage value and proposed facilities stands as a divine memorial for the humanity.
